Planer lets you create multiple buildings and floors, place a controller and luminaires, and compare predicted AirBUS connectivity. Plans and project files are processed in your browser.
1. Buildings and floors
Add buildings and their floors. Set the building type, floor heights, and slab material and thickness. For multiple buildings, define their relative positions. Align floor plans to the same reference point, such as a stairwell corner; this affects links between floors.
2. Load and scale a plan
Load PDF, DXF, JPG or PNG. Select the appropriate page in a PDF. Mark two points with a known distance and enter that length in metres. Check the scale after DXF import as well, because the file may not specify its units.
Automatic detection proposes wall segments from the drawing. Review proposals before accepting them: dimension lines, symbols and text may resemble walls. Draw missing segments manually and remove excess ones.
3. Describe walls and slabs
Select the material and thickness of each wall. Pay particular attention to reinforced concrete, thick masonry and metal partitions. Describe slabs separately for each floor. Attenuation values are project assumptions that can be adjusted to the building and your own measurements.
4. Place controllers and luminaires
Choose a product from the Wiki catalogue and place it on the plan. Its housing material is taken from the published product specification when available. You can override it for an individual device and set its mounting height.
AW, pictogram, NVG and Kombi are project roles and drawing symbols. Availability of a symbol does not confirm a corresponding commercial product variant. Select a mounting variant using the product datasheet.
5. Read links and coverage zones
Colours show predicted link margin: green — greater reserve, orange — marginal link, red — required margin not reached under the selected model. Check both direct controller links and routes through other luminaires. The zone view helps identify where an extra luminaire or a different device location may be useful.
The calculation considers distance, crossed walls and slabs, device housings and radio settings. Assumptions are listed in the model settings. Actual installations are also affected by the antenna, orientation, room contents and interference. Use the prediction for preliminary planning and verify the final layout with measurements in the building.
6. Save the project
Save during your work and download a JSON copy with the plan backgrounds. Keep the scale, wall materials and individual device settings so later comparisons use the same assumptions.
