Choose the right test
A function test checks luminaire operation. A duration test concerns the emergency operating duration. These are different checks with separate results.
Duration follows the device configuration
Before starting a duration test, check the time stored on the luminaire card. 1 h means 60 minutes, 3 h means 180 minutes, and 8 h means 480 minutes. Do not assume every luminaire has the same setting.
After the test
Read the saved result for the correct luminaire and date. Starting a test does not mean it finished successfully.
Follow site procedures and the manufacturer's instructions when testing an occupied building. This article introduces the terminology; it is not an installation acceptance procedure.
