USB drives for the controller: FAT32 and exFAT

Prepare a USB drive, check format compatibility and resolve errors.

USB drives for the controller: FAT32 and exFAT

USB drive for data import and export

Compatible storage

The controller supports USB mass storage (MSC). Current software supports FAT32 and exFAT. Older software may require FAT32; check the version and use FAT32 if necessary.

Format / partition scheme Support
FAT32 Yes
exFAT Yes, with software that supports exFAT
NTFS No
GPT No
MBR Use this partition scheme when preparing the drive

FAT32/exFAT alone is not sufficient if the drive uses GPT. The software does not specify one universally guaranteed maximum capacity or a list of approved models. Brand or capacity in GB alone does not guarantee compatibility.

Prepare on a computer

  1. Back up any required files: formatting erases the drive.
  2. Create a simple MBR layout with one FAT32 or exFAT partition. Use the system's suggested default allocation unit size.
  3. On Windows, check the partition scheme and file system using disk management tools. On macOS, show all devices in Disk Utility, select the physical drive and choose the Master Boot Record scheme.
  4. Copy files to the root directory, without subfolders or changes to the required filenames.
  5. Safely eject the drive from the computer, connect it to the controller and run the required operation.

If the controller cannot see USB

Only disconnect after an operation finishes, then reconnect. Check the format and MBR; replace NTFS/GPT with a compatible layout. For read errors, check the drive on a computer or try another drive. If there is insufficient free memory, retry after other controller operations finish.

The controller does not automatically format incompatible drives. Do not remove USB during import, export or backup. Afterwards, check that the saved file is readable on a computer.
